SUMMARY
The Foundation Grant & Operations Manager position will be pivotal in developing and sustaining programs that offer smart home technology training and career development opportunities for underserved communities. Key responsibilities include securing funding for the CEDIA Foundation, fostering relationships with CEDIA members and partners, managing scholarships and educational grants, and promoting workforce initiatives. The role will also ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements, streamline grant processes, and identify new funding opportunities to support the foundation’s long-term goals. Strong interpersonal, strategic, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
WHAT YOU’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FORThe Foundation Grant & Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grants process, including pre-award activities such as grant proposal development and submission, as well as proposal review. Additionally, they will manage post-award activities, including project initiation, progress reporting, and closeout. This role also involves various administrative duties associated with grant management.
A key responsibility of the Foundation Grant & Operations Manager is to develop and implement a comprehensive and sustainable program that provides training and career development opportunities in the smart home technology industry for underserved and underrepresented individuals. This person will need to consistently identify and secure funding to ensure the ongoing success and growth of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
· Create funding opportunities for the CEDIA Foundation and monitor all funds and charitable giving.
· Foster collaborative relationships with CEDIA manufactures, members, and other affiliates to support the foundation.
· Develop scholarship programs and educational grants to support CEDIA Education and certification.
· Research and identify grant opportunities for the CEDIA Foundation.
· Apply for federal, state, and other funding organizations.
· Track and monitor all grants, contacts, and research in the areas of fundraising and workforce development.
· Promote the workforce initiatives at CEDIA by partnering with local, national, and international organizations.
· Establish sustainable relationships with education partners.
· Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop submission and review processes of grant applications.
· Monitor and modify processes as necessary to ease the submission, review, and funding of grant applications.
· Identify inconsistencies in processes and develop suggestions for improving them.
· Manage and track the overall progression of grant submissions, distributing applications to reviewers, and curating post-award documentation.
· Coordinate with the finance and administrative staff to manage grant finances, ensuring adherence to budgets and compliance with sponsors' requirements.
· Identify future funding opportunities and work with SMEs to identify research components.
REQUIRED SKILLS
· Knowledgeable of funding mechanisms and interpretations of regulations and requirements set forth by federal, state, and university sponsors.
· Ability to identify grant opportunities and align them with organizational goals.
· Ability to coordinate grant-related administrative duties, including documentation and compliance with funders' requirements.
· Knowledge of budget creation, monitoring, and financial reporting.
· Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with donors, sponsors, and key stakeholders to create funding opportunities.
· Excellent interpersonal skills for building partnerships with local, national, and international organizations.
· Strong ability to collaborate with education partners, CEDIA affiliates, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and review grant applications.
· Ability to research and identify new funding opportunities aligned with the organization's workforce and educational goals.
· Strategic thinking to sustain and grow the grant-funded program over time.
· Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
· Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying inefficiencies in grant processes and developing solutions for improvement.
· Experience in streamlining submission, review, and funding processes.
· Strong attention to detail and compliance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in a related field.
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related role(s)
· Grant Professional Certified Preferred
· Expertise in developing, writing, and submitting grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding sources.
· Experience developing scholarship programs.
· Experience promoting initiatives and presenting program successes to a variety of audiences.
TRAVEL
This position will require you to travel to US travel and department offsite events annually, up to 2 weeks/year.
